Silent Hill Nightmare Creature

Oh look! Art! I hope it repeats soon, it's been so long...

Anyway, story behind it: It's been a while since I've experienced sleep paralysis and let me tell you I had not been missing it. >_<

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's that state between wakefulness and sleep, just when you're about to wake that your brain seems to wake before your body so you will feel awake but unable to move or talk for a few horrible seconds. It's happened to me several time throughout the years. It's never pleasant.

So, I had that happen to me again yesterday morning. I had been playing and reading about Silent Hill for a while now and the dream I was having started leaning toward the subject but I noticed and forced myself to wake up by blinking.
I managed to open my eyes just as I was starting to visualize some random monster sneaking about and got to look around my room, but my eyes kept closing and I kept seeing the fading dream. I tried moving but could only feel my fingers twitching and my muscles tensing but felt as if I had a weight on top of me and then something whispering or hissing in my ear and shaking me. Then as I gave up and let my eyes close again to let sleep retake my I saw that thing right in front of me, first as it is on the left, then I blinked my eyes open and closed again and saw it in all it's glory as it is on the right... IN MY FACE! THAT jolted me fully awake and almost off the bed too.

Like the good coward I am I turned on my light and sat on the bed until sleep went away so I didn't go right back to dreaming the thing off. After a while I let myself sleep again but not before focusing my thoughts in some other random subject.

It does look like the "Raw Shocks" from Shattered Memories ( [link] ) and it did look child-sized. But the "open lips" look was pure nightmare originality, which as an artist, I liked very much so decided to draw it. Also so it didn't plague me again.
